Bands / Live Music in local pubs

The Gin Mill has live music on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and / or Saturday nights. There is never a cover charge, just great music. The upcoming entertainers are as follows:

Balloon's Restaruant has live entertainment on Monday, Friday and Saturday nights every week. Enjoy some great food and check out a performance. Visit their website for food discounts on your phone. The Ellicottville Brewing Company has some live entertainment on weekends throughout various times of the year.  
The Gazebo Series runs from July to August. Free live music at the downtown Ellicottville gazebo on Thursday nights from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Pack a blanket or bring your own chairs and enjoy the music. The 2014 schedule is the following:

The Seneca Allegany Casino has live concerts throughout the year at their Seneca Allegany Event

Center. The casino and event center are 20 minutes south of Ellicottville off of Route 219, near Salamanca, NY. The casino exit is exit 20 off of Route 86. The upcoming entertainers are as follows:

The Winter Blues festival is in January. Featuring local blues musicians in local pubs and restaurants. The 2014 Winter Blues festival is perfect for the winter, with great skiing all day and great music all night! What a great way to shake the winter blues!

Nora Jane Struthers and The Party Line - EMM Festival
The Enchanted Mountain Music Festival is April. The event is new to Holiday Valley in 2014. This 3 day bluegrass festival has bluegrass and roots music concerts and workshops. The 2014 Bands will include Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen and Nora Jane Struthers and the Party Line. Tickets are available for the entire weekend as well as for individual concerts. The early bird price for an all weekend ticket, including the Friday night concert, Saturday concerts and Sunday morning is $75 for the month of February! The 2014 Enchanged Mountain Music Festival is April 11, 12 and 13, 2014.

Summer Fesitval of the Arts at Holiday Valley!
The Jam.Boree 3 day music festival in May, is held in the hills north of Ellicottville. This 3 day event features many artists in a unique setting.

The Summer Festival of the Arts in July, is a 3 day music and entertainment festival in downtown Ellicottville NY and at Holiday Valley Resort. In addition to the headline acts, there are more than 12 bands performing in Ellicottville over the weekend.

July 6, 2013 at 9:00 pm - Gretchen Wilson is the headline act on saturday at Holiday Valley Resort. Tickets are $30. Earlybird is from April 1 to April 5, at $5 off and no convenience fee (link below).

July 7, 2013 at 8:00 pm - Creedence Clearwater Revisited will perform at Holiday Valley Resort on Sunday. Tickets are $25. Earlybird is from April 1 to April 5, at $5 off and no convenience fee.

The Ellicottville Jazz Weekend is at the end of July in downtown Ellicottville, NY.  Featuring musicians in local pubs, restaurants, street venues, the Village Square and more. Just stroll the streets and listen to some great Jazz while your shop or sit down at a venue and enjoy the live performance. All of the performances are located in the downtown area, and are easily accessible by foot. Enjoy the summer and some great Jazz during the fantastic weekend. 

The 2013 Ellicottvile Jazz weekend is July 26 through July 28.

The Lucille Ball Comedy Festival is the first week in August in Jamestown, NY, which is about 35

minutes from Ellicottville. The events are held at the Lucille Ball Desi Arnez Center and the Reg Lenna Civic Center Theater, Infinity Performing Arts, Willow Bay Theater, Jamestown Gateway Train Station and more. Lucy Desi Museum is located in Jamestown, which is Lucy's home town. The festival is a great tribute the the comedic gueniuss of the Lucy and Desy. There are many events, trivia constest, comedian performances, tours and more over the 4 days. Some of the commedians are Bill Engval, Katheen Madigan, Rooftop Comedy and more local commedians. Athletic / Sporting Events

2014 Moonlight Snowshoe at Griffis Park February 15, 2014 at Grffis Sculpture Park 5 to 8:00 pm

Griffis Sculpture Park is a fantastic sculpture in Ashford Hollow, NY. Each year they have the Moonlight Snowshoe Tour that highlights some of their scuptures in a unique way. New for 2014, the sculptures are illuminated. Snowshoe to various art sculptures where your guides, Mark and Damian Griffis, will tell you a little history behind the piece. The event includes snowshoes from City Garage, chili from Balloons Restaurant, cookies, snacks and a live performance by Smackdab (a local Buffalo Band). The event is $50 and inclues the aforementioned items.

The Ellicottville Championship Rodeo - The rodeo is held the first  weekend in July at the Sommerville Valley Stables, just a few minutes from the Village of Ellicottville. It is one of the largest IPRA / APRA sanctioned rodeo’s in the northeast, with over 350 rodeo athletes. There are 7 standard rodeo events, junior bull riding, contract acts and clown. You are close to the action; and every seat is a great seat!

2013 Ellicottville Championship Rodeo is July 4 through July 7, 2013.

Family Events

Maple Weekends and Moore's Pancake House and Maple Shack.
The Maple weekend are several weekends in March when the maple season is at its peak for harvest. Enjoy a 20– 30 minute FREE wagon rides trough the maple woods 10 am to 3 pm. Learn about the syrup process. Moore's is about 30 minutes from Ellicottville.

Moore’s Pancake house is open in the spring for all-you-can eat buttermilk pancakes. There is an addditional breakfast menu that includes ham, sausage, eggs, french toast and more!

Stop in year round at the Maple Shack for maple syrup and other products. Buy local, direct from the producer! The have many sizes of pure maple syrup as well as containers. See website for open days and hours of operation.

Maple Weekends are in March 2016 and have not been announced yet.
Moore's Pancake house is open March 1 to April 15, 2016 weekdays and weekends (with some weekends excluded).

Children First Festival is a fun event for kids and parents! The event in Ellicottville offers a full day of free fun for kids of all ages. Come for the circus, the fashion show, parade, hands-on activities and more. You don't want to miss the stage show and fireworks on Saturday night.

Dates: 2014 Children First Festival is August 2014 TBD. No date has been announced.

Pumping hunt at Pumpkinville

Pumkinville starts the third Saturday in September and runs through October 31. This is a great family activity with something for everyone.  Pick up some pumpkins and check out the farm. There is a barbecue pit, homemade ice cream, home made deserts, pumpkin doughnuts, fresh cider, fudge, and maple products. Don't pass up the homemade pumpkin ice cream on the fresh pumpkin doughnut or the home made caramel ice cream with a fresh apple. MMMMMM! For 2014, there are pedal cars!

The farm also has a cider mill, pony rides, hay rides, the cow train, corn cannons, pedal cars storeyland and farm animals.  Check out the view or the mountainsides with a helicopter ride (separate charge per person and signed waiver)! Free admission, some activities require tickets.

Everything is in this little town like setting on the farm with a variety of shop including all of the fantastic foods listed above as well as local gifts. There is an entire day of fun!

Nightmare Hayrides are available in the fall. Nightmare Hayride on Sommerville St. is a scary haunted  tractor drawn hayride that will lead you down a creepy haunted path with live scary creatures. You never know what might be on the path. The 25 minute haunted hayride ends at a haunted maze that will twist and turn over one acre of land. Be prepared because once again they like to scare!! Now you are on foot and will be vulnerable as you walk through long dark hallways of the haunted maze of live scary creatures. After you have made your way through the maze you will then end up in our haunted barn which features their vortex tunnel. The entire experience of the hayride, maze and barn is approximately forty minutes of haunted fun. There is also a pavilion with a cook shack which will serve some spooktacular food! Take some time afterwards and enjoy a snack while telling all of your haunting stories. Come if you dare.

Event Festivals

Taste of Ellicottville Weekend is a fantastic opportunity to sample many of Ellicottville's restaurants. Twenty-two of Ellicottville, NY’s fine restaurants have set up on the village streets for the 2014 Taste of Ellicottville Festival. Purchase tickets at one of the village booths for $1 each and stroll the streets to find some appetizers, deserts, entree samples and more. A published menu will be available in July 2014. Each item is priced between $1-$4. If you find a restaurant you like, you can always stop in and have a full meal!

Dates: The 2017 Taste of Ellicottivlle is August 9 and August 10, 2014 between 12 pm and 4 pm each day.

Rock 'N Roll Weekend is the ultimate classic car and street rod show. The event has taken place in Ellicottville for over 15 years. Over 200 cars and street rods line the streets of downtown Ellicottville. There are seven classes: Antique, Classic, Sports car, Truck, Custom, Rods and Convertibles. There is live entertainment with over 20 musical performers. The event is free to people who want to check out the cars. You can also enter your car or truck into the show (see details below). This is a great chance to see some classic cars up close. Talk to the owners and see how long they have owned the car. Find out if there are any all original cars.  There is also a talent competition, costumes and nostalgia; along with the classic and  antique cars on display. As always there is plenty of kids; games and Rockin' entertainment for everyone over the weekend. Stop in and dine at one of the fantastic restaurants in Elllicottville or grab a handcrafted pint of ale or lager or glass of wineEllicottville Brewing Company or the Ellicottville Winery.

Ellicottville Fall Festival is the largest and oldest festival in Ellicottville. Celebrate the tastes and sounds of fall at the 2017 Fall Festival in Ellicottville, New York. The annual event, also known as the Oktoberfest, takes place in the fall to celebrate the fall season. It is the oldest and largest Festival in Ellicottville and for good reason; the fall color is at its peak. Tens of thousands of festival goers make for a fun weekend of unique foods, Arts show, Crafts show, curb market, carnival rides, live entertainment, mountain bike race, a 5K and much more. In addition to all of the events, many of the local restaurants and shops have sales and special items throughout the weekend. It is well worth the trip with all of the activity and fun planned over the weekend

There are activities at Holiday Valley Resort, including ski lifts rides to the top of Mardi gras, ski swap, tent sale, live music, food and beverages at the Mountain top Chalet and at the Cabana bar. You can also check out the mountain coaster and the Sky High adventure park. The 5K run and Mountain Bike race are at the resort as well.

In the village, there is an Art show, a craft show, carnival rides, a curb side market, a tent sale, live music and a food court. Don't forget about all of the sidewalk sales from the unique stores and restaurants. Most of the pubs have live entertainment and great food all weekend long.
